Many searches at once

Collect Many Maps Searches in One Run

Paste the links of several Maps searches, such as plumbers in ten cities, or upload them as a file. Bulk collects every business from each search, one search after another, with the emails from their websites, and saves them as one list.

Sample data. Part of a Bulk run over three searches for plumbers. Each search's businesses stay together. Every value is invented.

How it works

Four steps on the Bulk page

Bulk opens in its own tab. It works through the searches in that tab, so keep it open until the run finishes.

  1. Step 1: Open Bulk

In the side panel, click Bulk scrape, then Bulk scrape: Many Maps searches at once. Or paste three or more Maps links into chat and click the card that offers to open Bulk with them.

  2. Step 2: Give it the searches

Run each search on Maps once and copy its link from the address bar. Then, on the Upload step, choose how to give Bulk the links.

    • Paste URLs: one link per line.
    • Upload file: a .csv or .txt file with one link per row.
    • Use saved data: pick a column of links from a list you saved earlier.
  3. Step 3: Check what it kept

Review sites shows how many links are ready and how many it left out. It keeps only links to Maps searches; anything else is set aside with the note "Maps Scraper Pro collects Maps searches".

  4. Step 4: Start collecting

On Configure, leave Also collect contact details from each business's website ticked for emails, then click Start collecting. Each search is scrolled to the end of its list before the next one starts.

    • Click Stop at any time. The searches finished so far are saved.
    • The list appears in History as Bulk collection, with the number of searches and rows.

What you get

What one Bulk run gives you

The same columns as any Maps list, for every business in every search, saved together.

ColumnWhat it holds
One listEvery search's businesses in one History item, named Bulk collection with the number of searches and rows.
Every business per searchEach search is collected until its list ends. There's no per-search count to set.
The Maps columnsBusiness name, category, rating, review count, address, opening hours, phone, website and the Maps link.
The contact columnsEmails, website phones, faxes and social links from each business's website, read during the run.
Searches kept togetherEach search's businesses stay together in the list, sorted the way your Settings say, best rated first by default.

The links

Several categories and cities in one run

Bulk takes any mix of searches, so three kinds of business in three cities is one run of nine links. Bulk needs links, not words: it drops a line like "plumbers in Austin" because it isn't a link.

A spreadsheet is the quickest way to build the list, with the categories down the side and the cities across the top.

  1. Write the categories down and the cities across. One kind of business per row and one city per column: plumbers, electricians and roofers across Austin, Dallas and Houston makes nine cells.
  2. Run each pair on Maps once. Search Maps for the category and the city, such as "roofers in Dallas", and paste the address from the address bar into that cell.
  3. Put the links in one column. Copy the filled cells into a single column and save it as a .csv file for the Upload step, or paste them into Paste URLs one per line.
You wantSearches to run
One trade across a stateplumbers in each of 10 cities, one link per city
Every gym in a big citygyms in each neighbourhood or zip code
Several trades in one towndentists, chiropractors and physiotherapists in that town
A busy Maps search lists about 120 businesses at most, so for a big city use one search per neighbourhood or zip code. [Listing every business in a city](/guides/list-of-all-businesses-in-a-city) compares this with chat's area search.

Emails

Emails for every business in a city, many searches at once

To get the emails of every business of one kind in a city, give Bulk one search per neighbourhood or zip code and leave contact details ticked. Each business's website is read during the run, so the Emails column fills as the searches go.

One Maps search lists about 120 businesses, and one chat request reaches up to 1,000 by searching the area around a place. Bulk has no cap on the number of searches, so a long list of zip codes covers a city past that, one search after another.

Not every business publishes an email, so expect some empty cells. Getting emails from Maps explains why a cell is empty and what to do about it.

During the run

What happens while it runs

Bulk opens one search at a time inside its own tab, scrolls the businesses to the end of the list, and reads their websites for contact details as it goes. Then it moves to the next link.

Keep the Bulk tab open until it says the run is done. The results are saved when the run finishes or when you click Stop; there's no pause.

Chat or Bulk

When to use chat instead

For up to 10 places you'd like as one tidy list, chat is often the better fit. Run a search per place, then click Combine the searches into one table: the new list has a Location column and keeps a business found twice only once.

Bulk suits longer lists of searches you already have as links, and runs where you'd rather not type each place.

What people use it for

  • One niche, many cities

A client wants every roofer in a region. One link per city, one run, one list to tidy and hand over.

Lead lists for clients, step by step

  • Your whole service area

Every restaurant, office or clinic across the towns you cover, collected while you do something else.

Customers in your area, step by step

  • Several trades in one place

Dentists, chiropractors and physiotherapists in one town, as one list to compare.

Good to know

  • Bulk takes links to Maps searches only. Plain words and links to other sites are left out.
  • Only links on the main Maps address are kept; a link on a country's own Maps address is left out, so copy links from the main one.
  • Each search is collected to the end of its list. To get fewer, use a narrower search.
  • The list has no column saying which search a business came from, and a business that appears in two searches can be listed twice.
  • Bulk runs in your browser, one search after another. Keep the tab open and the computer awake until it finishes.

Questions, answered

How many searches can I put in one run?

There's no fixed number. Bulk works through them one at a time in your browser, so a long list takes a while: think of each search as a run of its own.

Can I type searches like "plumbers in Austin"?

Not in Bulk: it needs the link of each search. To type a place instead, ask in chat; for several places, run a search per place and combine them.

Does it collect emails too?

Yes, unless you untick Also collect contact details from each business's website before you start. It reads each business's website during the run.

Can I choose how many businesses per search?

No. Bulk collects each search until its list ends. For a smaller list, use a narrower search, or ask in chat, which takes a number.

What if I close the Bulk tab?

The run stops. Keep the tab open until it finishes, or click Stop first to save the searches it has finished.

Can I see which search each business came from?

Each search's businesses stay together in the list, but there's no column naming the search. For a Location column, run the searches in chat and combine them.

Turn your next Maps search into a lead list.

Install it, type the businesses and the city you want, and download the list.
