Ask in chat

Ask for the Businesses You Want, in a Sentence

Type the kind of business and the place, like "find plumbers in Austin". Chat runs the Maps search, collects each business with the emails from its website, and gives you a list to download as Excel, CSV or JSON.

How it works

From a sentence to a spreadsheet

Chat lives in the extension's side panel, the panel that opens on the right of Chrome. It works from any tab.

  1. Step 1: Type the business and the place

Open the side panel, choose the Chat tab, and type what you want. Name a city, a neighbourhood or "near me".

    • Find dentists in Dallas
    • Find the top 20 gyms in Austin
    • Find HVAC contractors near me
  2. Step 2: Choose how many

The first time, a card asks how many businesses you want: 20, 50, 100, 200, or any number you type. Click Start. Later searches use the same number unless your request names one.

    • The card's own guide: 20 take under a minute, 200 about five minutes.
    • Your pick is kept as Businesses per chat search in Settings → Results. Set it back to Ask me in chat to see the card again.
  3. Step 3: Watch it collect, then download

A Maps tab opens and the panel counts the businesses as they arrive, then how many have an email. When it's done, click Excel, CSV, JSON or Sheets, or open the list on the results page.

    • The list is saved in History either way.
    • Click Stop at any time; what it found so far is kept.

What you can ask

Things to type, and what happens

Chat understands the request and runs the extension's own tools. The businesses themselves come from Maps, in your browser.

  • Find businesses

Find dentists with emails in Dallas

Searches Maps for the place and collects the number you choose, with contact details from each website.

  • Collect the map in front of you

    Collect these businesses

On a Maps search you already have open, collects the businesses it lists, up to 200.

  • Several places, one list

Now find dentists in Fort Worth

After two or more searches, a card offers to combine them into one table with a Location column.

  • Tidy the list

Only name, phone, email and website, best rated first

With the list open on the results page, shows only the columns you name, sorts it, renames or hides columns.

  • Keep only some rows

Only rows where Emails is filled

Filters the list: rows with an email, a rating above 4.5, businesses with no website.

  • Download it

    Download this as Excel

Downloads what the results page shows, as Excel, CSV or JSON, or makes a new sheet in Sheets when you ask for one.

Several places

Combine searches into one table

Run a search for each city in the same conversation. From the second one on, chat ends each search with a card such as Combine the 3 searches into one table. Click it and a new list opens with every business once.

The new list's first column says which search each business came from: Location when each search named a different place, otherwise Search. It combines up to 10 lists, and a business found twice is kept once, matched by its name and address.

Your data

What's sent to our servers, and what stays in your browser

The businesses you collect, with their emails and phones, stay in your browser and are never sent to us. The Maps search and the website reading happen in your browser too.

To work out what you're asking for, chat sends the text of the conversation's last six messages to our servers, with the kind of page you're on. There's no account to create: the first time you use chat, the extension connects to our servers on its own, using your Chrome profile's email if there is one.

The extension also sends usage analytics, through our servers to the analytics service we use, when you collect a list, download one, finish a Bulk run or send a chat message. Each event carries what's below; the privacy policy covers everything we receive.

  • Your Chrome profile's email, if Chrome shares it, and a random id for this install.
  • The address of the page it's about, without anything after a question mark. On Maps, that address can include the search, a business's name and where the map is.
  • For a chat message: its first 500 characters, the search and place chat chose, and how many businesses came back.
  • For a collection, a download or a Bulk run: what kind it was, the file format, and counts such as how many rows.

What people use it for

  • A list for a client by the end of the day

One sentence per city, combined into one table, tidied to the client's columns and downloaded as Excel.

Lead lists for clients, step by step

  • Customers near you

"Find restaurants near me" gives a list of the businesses you could sell to, with a phone and email for each.

Customers in your area, step by step

  • A first try, with nothing to learn

Type a sentence and watch the list fill in. There are no settings to change before your first run.

Good to know

  • Chat has a daily message limit. When you reach it, chat says so; the side panel's Collect list and Bulk still work until it resets the next day.
  • Chat needs an internet connection. The collecting itself happens in your browser.
  • Collecting the map in front of you stops at 200 businesses. A chat search goes further by searching the area around the place.
  • If you close the side panel during a run, the search under way finishes in its Maps tab and its businesses are kept in History; searching the rest of the area stops.

Questions, answered

Do I need an account or an API key?

No. The first time you use chat, the extension connects to our servers on its own, using your Chrome profile's email if there is one. There's nothing to sign up for, unlike the workflow and script routes in how to get Maps leads with AI.

Is chat free?

Yes, like everything in Maps Scraper Pro. It has a daily message limit so it stays available to everyone; what the extension can and can't do sets out that limit and the others.

Does the AI see the businesses I collect?

No. Chat sends the text of your messages and the kind of page you're on. The businesses are collected by the extension in your browser and stay there.

How many businesses can I ask for?

Up to 1,000 in one request. When the first search lists fewer, chat searches the area around the place for the rest. Collecting a map you already have open stops at 200.

Can I get emails without asking for them?

Yes. Contact details are on by default, so every chat search reads each business's website. Add "no emails" to a request to skip them once.

What happens when I reach the daily limit?

Chat says "You've reached today's chat limit. Try again tomorrow." The side panel's Collect list and Bulk keep working without chat.

Can I paste a list of Maps links into chat?

Yes. Paste three or more and chat shows a card, such as Open Bulk with these 12 URLs, which collects every search in one run.

Turn your next Maps search into a lead list.

Install it, type the businesses and the city you want, and download the list.
