The short answer
Choose Outscraper if
- You need tens of thousands of businesses, collected on its servers while your computer is off.

What Outscraper charges for a list with emails
Outscraper bills a lead list on two meters: one for the businesses it collects from Maps, and one for the business websites it reads for emails. Each meter has its own free allowance, and both reset every 30 days.
There's no monthly fee. You add prepaid credits, which its pricing page says never expire, or connect a card that's billed only when a month's use goes past the free tier.
| What's counted | Free every 30 days | Then | After 100,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Businesses from a Maps search | 500 | $3 per 1,000 | $1 per 1,000 |
| Website domains read for emails, phones and social profiles | 500 | $3 per 1,000 | $1 per 1,000 |
| Reviews, with their text | 500 | $3 per 1,000 | $1 per 1,000 |
| Emails checked by its verifier | 25 | $3 per 1,000 | $1 per 1,000 |
The emails meter counts domains, not businesses. Its Emails & Contacts page says it bills the domains where contacts were found, so a business without a website, or with one that lists nothing, adds nothing to it.
What 1,000 businesses with emails cost
A list of 1,000 businesses with emails costs at most $3.00 in Outscraper when the month's free tier is unused, and at most $6.00 when it's already spent. In Maps Scraper Pro it costs nothing.
The working, from the prices above, assumes every business has a website with contacts on it. That's the most the emails meter can count, so a real list costs the same or less.
| Compared | Free tier unused | Free tier already used |
|---|---|---|
| Businesses | (1,000 − 500 free) × $3 ÷ 1,000 = $1.50 | 1,000 × $3 ÷ 1,000 = $3.00 |
| Website domains | (1,000 − 500 free) × $3 ÷ 1,000 = $1.50 | 1,000 × $3 ÷ 1,000 = $3.00 |
| Outscraper in all | $3.00 | $6.00 |
| Maps Scraper Pro | $0 | $0 |
The $1 rate starts only after 100,000 businesses in a month, so it doesn't apply to a list this size.
In Maps Scraper Pro, 1,000 businesses is one chat request: chat searches the area around the place when a single Maps search lists fewer. It takes longer than 200, which the count card puts at about five minutes.
What each one collects for a business
Both tools give you a row per business with its Maps details and the contact details from its website. They differ in how many other details come with it and what costs extra.
Maps Scraper Pro's row holds nine columns from Maps, then the contact columns from the business's website, all in one run. The email reader reads the page Maps links to and one contact page.
| Part of the row | Maps Scraper Pro | Outscraper |
|---|---|---|
| From Maps | Name, category, rating, review count, address, opening hours, phone, website and the Maps link | The business's Maps details, on the businesses meter |
| From its website | Emails, website phones, faxes and one column per social network | Emails, phones and social profiles, on the domains meter |
| Review text | Not collected | A separate scraper, billed per review |
| Checking the emails | Shape only | A separate verifier, billed per email |
Where each one runs, and what setting it up takes
Outscraper runs on its own servers, so a task keeps going when you close the browser. You need an account, and you pay with prepaid credits or a card once you pass the free tier.
Maps Scraper Pro runs in your Chrome browser and needs no account. Chat sets itself up the first time you use it, and the lists you collect stay in your browser's History rather than on our servers.
The trade-off is that your computer does the work. A chat run needs its side panel open until it ends, and a long list of cities in Bulk needs the computer awake until the last search is done.
Where Outscraper is the better choice
Outscraper suits teams that collect at volume, feed another system or need more than a contact list. These are things Maps Scraper Pro doesn't do, and extension or cloud service sets out why no extension does them.
- Large volumes: its prices run past 100,000 businesses a month, at $1 per 1,000 beyond that point.
- Runs on its servers, so long jobs don't depend on your computer.
- An API from the paid tiers, a Zapier integration and an official n8n node, for lists that flow into a CRM.
- Review text from its reviews scraper, for reputation or competitor research.
- An email verifier and a phone lookup, billed per address and per number, for lists that must be checked before a campaign.
- Parquet files as well as CSV, Excel and JSON, for data teams.
Where Maps Scraper Pro fits better
Maps Scraper Pro fits one person or a small team who needs a list of local businesses this week, with emails, and doesn't want to manage a balance. Nothing is metered, so a second try at a search costs nothing either.
It also keeps the tidying in one place. On the results page you can keep only the rows with an email, sort by rating or review count, rename the columns and download the file as Excel, CSV or JSON.
If you build lists for clients, city by city, the lead generation workflow shows how to combine several cities into one table and hand it over.
Making the same list in Maps Scraper Pro
Each part of an Outscraper task has a counterpart in Maps Scraper Pro. Here is a list of dentists in Dallas with emails, made the same way.
Step 1: Type the category and the place as one request
Open the side panel, choose Chat and type "find dentists in Dallas, TX". Where Outscraper asks for a category and a location, chat takes them in plain words.
Step 2: Pick how many on the count card
The card offers 20, 50, 100 or 200, or a number you type, up to 1,000. This takes the place of Outscraper's result limit.
Step 3: Leave the emails on
Contact details are on by default, so each business's website is read during the run. There's no second service to tick and nothing extra to pay for.
Step 4: Choose the file on the results page
Open the list from History, keep the rows you want and click Export as. For many cities at once, paste their Maps search links into Bulk instead of running a task per location.
Questions people ask
Is Outscraper free?
It has a free tier: it collects 500 businesses and reads 500 website domains free every 30 days, then charges $3 per 1,000 of each. Maps Scraper Pro is free with no allowance to run out of.
Is Outscraper worth it?
It depends on the size of the job. For tens of thousands of businesses, an API or review text, its per-record prices are low. For a few hundred businesses with emails at a time, its free tier or a free extension covers it.
Does Outscraper find emails?
Yes, with its Emails & Contacts Scraper, which reads each business's website and is billed per domain after the first 500 in a month. Maps Scraper Pro reads each website in the same run, free.
Can I verify emails with Maps Scraper Pro?
No. It checks that each address looks like an email, not that the mailbox exists. Outscraper sells a verifier, priced per 1,000 addresses after 25 free.
Outscraper or Apify for Maps leads?
Both run in the cloud and have APIs. Outscraper charges per record on simple meters; Apify charges per event inside a platform with schedules and many scrapers. See how Apify's Maps scraper compares.
