Lead lists for clients
Build a Lead List for a Client, City by City
A client asks for every roofer in five cities, with emails. Ask for each city in chat, combine the searches into one table, keep the columns the client wants, and send an Excel file the same afternoon.

The job
The list you'd otherwise copy by hand
A client sells to a trade, such as roofers and other contractors or dentists, and wants a list of them in the cities they cover. They want the business name, the phone, the website and an email, in a file they can open. It's B2B lead generation: every row is a business, not a consumer.
The names and phones are on Maps, in each business's Business Profile listing. The emails are on each business's own website. By hand, that's a day of opening tabs and copying.
Maps Scraper Pro does both parts in one run, in your Chrome browser, and keeps each list in History so the next order starts from where you left off. If you'd rather sell the lists themselves than build them for one client, starting a lead generation business with Maps leads covers what to sell and how to price it.
Step by step
From an order to a file in five steps
The first three steps take a few minutes per city. The extension does the collecting while you watch, or while you get on with something else.
Step 1: Ask for the first city
Open the side panel, choose Chat and type the trade and the city. The first time, pick how many businesses on the card and click Start; later searches use the same number.
- Find roofers in Denver
- 20 take under a minute; 200 about five minutes, by the card's own guide.
- Emails come in the same run; contact details are on by default.
Step 2: Ask for the other cities in the same conversation
Type the next city, then the next. From the second search on, chat ends each one with a card to combine them. After the last city, click it: Combine the 5 searches into one table.
- The new list's first column, Location, says which city each business is in.
- A business found in two searches is kept once, matched by name and address.
- It combines up to 10 searches.
Step 3: For a long list of places, use Bulk
Twenty towns, or every zip code in a city? Run each search on Maps once, copy the links, and paste them into Bulk. It collects every search in one run and saves one list.
- Bulk has no Location column, and a business in two searches can appear twice. Check for repeats before you send.
Step 4: Shape the list to the client's columns
Open the list on the results page. Tell chat what the client wants, or hide and rename columns by hand.
- Only Location, name, phone, email and website
- Only rows where Emails is filled
- Rename Business Name to Company
Step 5: Download and deliver
Click Export as and choose Microsoft Excel for a client, or CSV for their email or sales tool. The file is named after the list, with the date. If the client loads it into HubSpot or Pipedrive, importing Maps leads into a CRM says what their import will expect.
Client requests
What clients ask for, and how to give it to them
Most orders are a variation on the same list. These cover the common ones.
| The client wants | Do this |
|---|---|
| Only businesses with an email | Ask chat: only rows where Emails is filled |
| Businesses with no website, for a web design pitch | Ask chat: only rows where Website is empty |
| Established businesses first | Sort by Review Count, or set Sort businesses to Most reviewed first |
| Their own column names | Ask chat: rename Business Name to Company, or edit the column names |
| Social profiles as well | Keep the LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram columns the run added |
Big cities
Getting the whole of a big city
A busy Maps search lists about 120 businesses. For a large city, that's a fraction of the trade.
In chat, ask for more and it searches the area around the place for the rest, up to 1,000 businesses. For more control over the area, search each neighbourhood or zip code and combine the lists.
Before you send
Three checks before the file goes out
A few minutes on the results page saves an awkward email from the client.
- Look at the empty Emails cells. They're businesses whose websites list no address. Say so in your delivery note rather than leaving them looking like a fault.
- Scan for repeats. A combined list keeps each business once; a Bulk list can repeat one found by two searches. Sort by Business Name to spot them.
- Check a few rows by hand. Open a business's Maps link and website from the list and compare. It takes a minute and catches surprises.
What it can't do
- It can't promise an email for every business. Only businesses that publish one on their website get one.
- It doesn't verify emails. It collects the addresses businesses publish; it doesn't check that a mailbox exists.
- It doesn't collect people's profiles or personal details, and it doesn't work on LinkedIn.
- It doesn't collect review text. Each business comes with its star rating and review count.
- It doesn't send emails or run campaigns. Download the list and use the tool you already have.
- It doesn't run on a schedule. Each list is collected when you run it, in your browser.
Questions
Things people ask before they start
How long does a city take?
By the chat card's own guide, 20 businesses take under a minute and 200 about five minutes, with the emails read in the same run.
Can I deliver it in the client's format?
Yes. Hide the columns they don't want, rename the rest and drag them into their order on the results page, then download Excel or CSV.
Is there a cost per lead or per row?
No. Maps Scraper Pro is free, with no plan, credits or per-row charge.
What share of businesses will have an email?
It depends on the trade and the place. Businesses that take messages only by phone or a form won't have one, and their rows keep the phone and website.
Can I run the same list again next month?
Yes. Run the same searches again, or keep the links in a file and upload it to Bulk. Each run is saved as a new list in History.
Is it allowed to email the businesses on the list?
That depends on the anti-spam and privacy rules where you and the businesses are. Check them, and your client's plans, before anyone sends anything. This isn't legal advice.
Another way to use it
- Customers in your area
The local businesses you sell to, in one list you can call or email.
Turn your next Maps search into a lead list.
