A database or a live search
Scrap.io exports businesses from its own database, while Maps Scraper Pro collects them from a Maps search as you run it. That difference shapes most of what follows.
Scrap.io's home page says its database covers 195 countries and more than 4,000 business categories, drawn from Maps and two other map services, and that it updates the data continuously. Because the businesses are already gathered, it can show how many match a search and filter them before you export anything.
Maps Scraper Pro reads the Maps search itself, so the list is what Maps shows on the day. One search lists about 120 businesses; when you ask chat for more, it searches the area around the place until it reaches your number, up to 1,000.
What Scrap.io's plans include
Scrap.io has four plans, and they differ in how many businesses you can export each month and how wide an area one search can cover. Every plan includes reverse search, file enrichment, its API and MCP access.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly, per month | Exports a month | Widest area | Radius search |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $49 | $35 | 10,000 | A city | No |
| Professional | $99 | $69 | 20,000 | A county | Up to 50 km |
| Agency | $199 | $139 | 40,000 | A state | Up to 100 km |
| Company | $499 | $350 | 100,000 | A whole country | Up to 500 km |
An export credit is one business. Its pricing page says each business counts once in a 30-day period and unused credits don't carry over to the next month. Larger teams can ask about Atlas, its contract offer, from $5,000 a month.
What 1,000 businesses cost
Exporting 1,000 businesses from Scrap.io takes a paid plan, because the trial stops at 100. The cheapest way is one month of Basic at $49; in Maps Scraper Pro the same 1,000 cost nothing.
| Compared | Scrap.io | Maps Scraper Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 businesses, once | $49 for a month of Basic, using 1,000 of its 10,000 credits | $0 |
| Per 1,000, using every Basic credit | $49 ÷ 10 = $4.90, or $35 ÷ 10 = $3.50 billed yearly | $0 |
| Per 1,000, using every Company credit | $499 ÷ 100 = $4.99, or $350 ÷ 100 = $3.50 billed yearly | $0 |
| A whole state at once | Agency, $199 a month | One search per city or area, in chat or Bulk |
The price per business barely changes between plans. What you pay more for is reach: a wider area per search and more exports each month.
Basic covers Dallas, because Dallas is a city. A list for a county, such as the whole of Dallas County, needs Professional at $99 a month.
Scrap.io's free trial, and what happens after it
Scrap.io has no free plan, only a 7-day trial of Basic that needs a card. Its help center sets out the limits.
- The trial lasts 7 days from the moment you enter your card.
- It allows 50 searches and 100 export credits, where a credit is one business.
- Scrap.io says it asks for the card so the service doesn't stop after the trial, and to keep out bots that open many accounts.
- When the 7 days end, Basic starts automatically and is charged unless you've cancelled.
Watch out: If you try Scrap.io and don't want Basic, cancel before day 7. Its FAQ says you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Maps Connect, Scrap.io's free extension
Scrap.io also makes a free Chrome extension, Maps Connect. Its page says it adds business emails and social networks to Maps as you browse and lets you contact a business in one click, free and without a limit.
That suits looking up a few businesses while you browse. Maps Scraper Pro does a different job: it turns the whole search into a list, with each business's emails, phones and social links from its own website, ready to download.
Where Scrap.io is the better choice
Scrap.io is built for wide areas and steady volume, and it has tools Maps Scraper Pro doesn't.
- A whole county, state or country in one export, on the higher plans, with a radius or a drawn area on top.
- Counts and filters before you export, such as only businesses with an email, a phone or a minimum rating.
- Businesses from other map services as well as Maps, by its own account.
- Reverse search, which finds the business behind a phone number, email or domain, and file enrichment, which completes a file of your own.
- A REST API and MCP access on every plan, for scripts, a CRM or an AI assistant.
Where Maps Scraper Pro fits better
Maps Scraper Pro fits when a list for one town or a few neighbourhoods is the job, and a card on file isn't wanted. Nothing renews, so there's nothing to cancel.
Because it collects the search as you run it, a business that opened last week is there if Maps lists it. The contact details are read from each website on the same day, and the list stays in your browser's History.
Making the same list in Maps Scraper Pro
A city-wide list of one kind of business takes one request, or a few searches combined. Here is a Dallas list of dentists.
Step 1: Ask for the number and the distance
In chat, type "find 1,000 dentists within 15 km of Dallas, TX". Chat collects the first search, then searches the area around it until it has 1,000, runs out of new businesses or reaches that distance (about 4 km when the request gives none).
Step 2: Or cover the city neighbourhood by neighbourhood
Run one Maps search per neighbourhood or zip code and paste the links into Bulk, or run the searches in chat and combine up to 10 of them into one table with a Location column.
Step 3: Keep the rows with an email and download
On the results page, ask chat for "only rows where Emails is filled", then export the list as Excel, CSV or JSON.
For a whole city, the guide to listing every business in a city compares the two ways in more detail.
