What a row holds, and what it never holds
Each row has what the business's listing shows and what its own website publishes. Anything else about the business isn't in the list, and the extension doesn't look it up anywhere else.
| In the list | Not in the list | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Business Name, Category, Rating, Review Count | The text of the reviews, or who wrote them | The extension reads the listing's card and its details panel, not the reviews |
| Address, Operating Hours, Phone, Website, Map URL | Coordinates, a place ID or photos | The columns stop at what the details panel shows as text, plus the link back to the listing |
| Emails, Website phones, Faxes and social links from the website | An owner's name, a personal email or a number looked up elsewhere | Websites are read for what they publish, and nothing is searched for beyond them |
| The businesses the search lists | Businesses with no Maps listing | The extension collects a search and has no other source |
The full column list is on the lists and downloads page. Review text and photos are also someone's work rather than facts, which is one reason the legality page treats them differently.
How many businesses one run collects
Maps sets the first limit: one search lists about 120 businesses, however big the city, and scrolling further adds nothing. Everything past that comes from running more searches, which the extension does in three ways.
| Way of collecting | Stops at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Collect list, from the side panel | The end of the search's list, about 120 | It scrolls the search you opened until Maps says the list has ended |
| Chat, for a kind of business and a place | The number you ask for, up to 1,000 | Past the first search, it searches again from points 2 km apart around the place, up to 20 km out |
| Chat, for the businesses already on the map | 200 | It collects what the open map shows, without searching further |
| Bulk, from a list of search links | The end of each search's list, for every link | Each link is one search collected to its end, and there's no cap on the number of links |
Chat's area search goes by distance, not by city line, and stops early when three searches in a row find nothing new. By the chat card's own guide, 20 businesses take under a minute and 200 about five minutes.
Listing every business in a city shows how the three ways combine, and what a whole city takes in time.
Chat's limits
Chat is free, with a daily message limit, and it never writes a row itself: it chooses the search and the tidying, and the extension collects the listings. When you reach the day's limit it says so and works again the next day, and Collect list and Bulk don't use chat at all.
- One request collects up to 1,000 businesses. For more, ask place by place and combine the searches.
- The combine card joins the last 10 searches of a conversation. A business found twice is kept once when its name and address match.
- Filters on the results page all have to match, because there's no "or". For either of two groups, filter for one and download it, then the other.
- Chat collects, tidies, combines and downloads. It doesn't write or send emails, and it looks at nothing beyond the Maps search and each business's website.
- Your messages go to our servers so chat can work out what to do; the rows you collect never do. What chat sends is on its page.
What Bulk takes and leaves out
Bulk runs a list of Maps search links one after another and saves them as one list. Its limits are about the links it accepts and the list it saves.
- It takes links to Maps searches only. A line of words such as "plumbers in Austin", or a link to any other site, is left out and counted on the Review sites step.
- Only links on the main Maps address work. A link copied from a country's own Maps address is left out.
- Each search is collected to the end of its list. There's no count to set per search, so use a narrower search for fewer businesses.
- The saved list has no column saying which search a business came from, and a business found by two searches can appear twice. Chat's combine card, for up to 10 searches, adds a Location column and removes repeats instead.
- The Bulk tab must stay open, and the computer awake, until the run finishes. Stop saves the searches finished so far; there's no pause.
How Bulk works covers its four screens and how to build the list of links.
Emails and phones: where they stop
Maps shows no emails, so every email comes from a business's own website, read during the run. That sets the limits on what you get.
- A business with no website has no email, and one whose website publishes none keeps an empty Emails cell. Businesses that take messages only by form come back with their phone.
- The extension reads the page the listing links to and one contact page, four sites at a time while the Maps part goes on. A page that takes longer than 10 seconds, shows a robot check, or is a directory or marketplace listing isn't read.
- Emails are checked for their shape, not for a working mailbox. Nothing is verified, and nothing is sent.
- Businesses that share one website, such as a chain's branches, all get that site's details, because each site is read once.
- Phone is the listing's number, usually the business line, and Website phones adds the numbers the site lists. Nothing says whether a number is a mobile, and no number is looked up anywhere else.
Why some rows have no email goes through each case, and how the website reader works lists exactly what it reads.
Files, Sheets and where lists live
Downloads are Microsoft Excel, CSV and JSON, from the results page or straight from History. Sheets is an export too: Export as makes a new sheet in the account Chrome is signed in with and opens it, and the extension can see only the sheets it created. It can't add rows to a sheet you already have; import the CSV for that.
- History keeps your 500 most recent lists. Past that, the oldest are removed to make room, pinned ones included, so download anything you need to keep.
- Lists live in this Chrome profile, on this computer. They don't move to another computer or profile, and removing the extension deletes them.
- A download has what the results page shows, so a filter or a hidden column changes the file. Deleting a row or a column on the results page changes the saved list too.
- Over 500 rows, the results page shows a list in its saved order only and Show the site's order is off. Sort the file in a spreadsheet instead.
- Ratings and review counts are saved as numbers. Phone numbers stay as text, so a leading zero or a + survives in the Excel file.
The lists and downloads page covers the results page and the settings behind every file.
No API, no schedule, no cloud
Everything happens in your Chrome, while it's open. There's no API, no MCP server and no webhook for your code or an automation tool to call, and nothing runs on our servers on your behalf.
So there are no schedules: a list is collected when you start it, in a tab you keep open, on a computer that stays awake. To refresh a list, run the same searches again, and each run is saved as a new list in History.
A cloud service is the other model, with an API, schedules and runs that continue with your computer off, for a fee. Extension or cloud service sets the two side by side, and Maps leads with AI covers feeds built with n8n or Claude Code.
Pace, blocks and verification pages
The extension works like a person using Maps, and it never gets round a check. It opens businesses at an uneven pace, and when two in a row fail to load their details it waits longer before each next one, up to half a minute, until details load again.
If Maps shows a verification page, the run stops there. Complete the check in the tab yourself and run the search again; nothing in the extension changes your browser or hides what it does, so whether Maps shows one is up to Maps.
A business whose details never loaded keeps empty cells, such as Phone and Address. Open its Map URL to check, and collect the search again if many rows came back empty.
Where it runs, and where it doesn't
Maps Scraper Pro is a Chrome extension for a computer: a Windows PC, a Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. The Chrome app on phones and tablets doesn't install extensions, so collect on a computer and open the file wherever you like.
It collects Maps on its main address only, and we haven't verified it in other Chromium browsers, so this site says Chrome. It needs no account and no Maps sign-in.
Chat sets itself up the first time you use it, with your Chrome profile's email if Chrome shares one. The privacy policy lists everything we receive, and the rows you collect are never part of it.
Questions people ask
Does it collect reviews?
No. Each business comes with its star rating and its number of reviews, both saved as numbers. The text of the reviews isn't collected.
Can it export to Sheets?
Yes. Choose Sheets under Export as on the results page, or ask chat to put the list in Sheets. It makes a new sheet in the account Chrome is signed in with, with every column, and opens it in a new tab. To add rows to a sheet you already have, download the CSV and import it.
Is there an API?
No. The extension has no API, MCP server or schedule; it collects in your browser while you watch. A cloud service is the model with an API, usually priced per record.
Does it get mobile numbers?
It gets the number each business publishes on its listing and its website, which is sometimes a mobile. It doesn't say which numbers are mobiles, and it doesn't look up anyone's personal number.
How many leads can I collect a day?
There's no cap on rows. Chat has a daily message limit, and Collect list and Bulk don't use chat, so the limit in practice is time: each business is opened in turn in your browser.
Does it work on a phone?
No. It's a Chrome extension for a computer. The Excel or CSV file it downloads opens on a phone in any spreadsheet app.
